Jags extend Blake Bortles

The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed quarterback Blake Bortles to a contract extension through the 2020 season, according to a report from the Florida Times-Union.

Bortles, 26, was likely going to play under a fifth-year option in 2018 that guaranteed $19M. His new contract voids that option.

The extension likely means that Jacksonville is out of the running for a free agent quarterback.

Jacksonville finished the 2017 season with an 11-5 record before losing to the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship.
